Any Questions?
The division lays out pretty much as the games were played. Nebraska swept everyone, so they are a unanimous #1. Missouri beat everyone in the North except Nebraska according to GP, so they are the clear #2. It get's a little dicey at the #3 spot. KU beat KSU, CU and ISU, but they finished 3-5 in conference compared to KSU's 4-4 record. Give it to the Hawks on the head-to-head and the division record (3-2 for KU vs 2-3 for KSU). If the Cats thrash a Big 10 team in their bowl, they can move up. Colorado beat ISU, so they get the #5 spot. Hey, didn't ISU beat someone in the division? Don't let Gary get you down Cyclones, you've got the new coach, so you'll get the bump in recruiting this year.
1) Nebraska (9-3, 6-2) #19 CBS
Credit the Huskers for dominating the North and picking up a "respect" win at A&M. The NU fans are claiming that the window has closed for North hopefuls. Maybe. Three straight is convincing, but Husker fans won't take kindly to a "home" loss to the old-time rival Sooners.

A KU team with a suspect pass defense comes in for senior day at Columbia and all of the sudden the 8-4 Tigers are acting like they are "America's Team" again. Yippee!

After setting a record for attendance and giving the coach a raise, KU fans are extremely bitter about the 6-6 regular season. That alone could be a good sign as the expectations seem to have changed. Assuming a lottery-type chance at a bowl does not come through, KU will end the season with a loss for the first time since 2003. Maybe that will create a little more hunger for the early-season games in 2007.

With a better record in conference and overall, the Cat's finish ahead of the Jayhawks in the standings, but they still lost the head-to-head. It looks like they'll face a mediocre Big 10 team in the postseason -- that should push expectations back up to pre-November 18 levels.

The nice thing about going 2-10 is that you only have to win four games the next season to impress anyone. Of course, that may not be true in Boulder. Recruiting's going well -- 13 three-stars, one four-star and one five-star.

Texas defensive coordinator Gene Chizik takes over for the Clones. Will he be bringing his players with him? It'll be interesting to see how he does with mere mortals on the field. KSU fans are not scared.
